smart daddy?

Last Tuesday, while i was busy doing some home fixings, i heard my little girl (sometimes, i still refer to her as my baby) murmuring and suddenly blurted, "smart daddy! smart daddy!" I was in the other room busy with my "butingting" job. So i thought she and her dad were together.

Done with my job, i approached her and checked what she was doing. She was sitting on the bed alone and was holding a simpack. And I was amused to learn and what she was referring to as "smart daddy" was actually Smart Buddy!

May be she recognized it through the logo. How would she know it is Smart Buddy when she could not read yet? This kid is a TV addict, which explains why she had memorized almost all of the TV ads.

Later, she also saw a puzzle box with the Jollibee logo. She shouted, "Jollibee!" with matching singing "Bida ang sarap..."

Say mo? hehehe.

at two years old diona mae already knows the proper way of using a pen. most of the time, she messes with my notebooks and even my books! one day, she found my book "The Little Prince" and tore its pages. whaaaa.... but what she loves to do most is scribble at anything, including walls, floors, tables, chairs and her arms and legs!

who says we, city hall reporters are not organized? they said, "kanya-kanya" ra daw mi. well, let them think whatever they want to. basta kami, we enjoy each others' company. =)

LONDON (Reuters) - It is the one moment every man wants to get right -- and which London floor-fitter Lefkos Hajji could hardly have got more wrong.

The luckless 28 year-old's dreams of giving his sweetheart, Leanne, 26, the ultimate proposal have literally vanished into thin air.

Hajji, of Hackney, east London, had concealed a $12,000 engagement ring inside a helium balloon. The idea was that she would pop the balloon as he popped the question.

But as he left the shop, a gust of wind pulled the balloon from his hand and he watched the ring -- and quite possibly the affections of his girlfriend -- sailing away over the rooftops.

"I couldn't believe it," he told The Sun newspaper.

"I just watched as it went further and further into the air.

"I felt like such a plonker. It cost a fortune and I knew my girlfriend would kill me."

Hajji spent two hours in his car trying to chase and find the balloon, without success.

"I thought I would give Leanne a pin so I could literally pop the question," he said.

"But I had to tell her the story -- she went absolutely mad. Now she is refusing to speak to me until I get her a new ring."

He is hoping the ring will still turn up.

"It would be amazing if someone found it," he added.

addicted

I was really not fond of playing on line games (may be except online scrabble) until i discovered this. Before, i hated my boyfriend for staying stuck in front of the computer playing this game until the wee hours of the morning. I like watching it because it's like watching real basketball tournament.

My curiousity grew and one day i asked him to teach me how to play it. And voila! I loved it!

This saying is 101% true: "If you can't beat 'em, join 'em." hehehehe.

Past 2 p.m. Friday when the freaking news about the explosion in Glorietta broke out. I was at the Freeman newsroom and was about to write my reports when my attention was caught by colleagues gathered around the TV set. Curious, i joined them and was surprised when i learned that one of the posh malls in Manila was "bombed." I suddenly remembered by older brother who works in the same mall as a security personnel. Wasting no time, i immediately sent him text message asking how he was.

He replied: "Ok naman kami. Sa kabilang building lang namin (the explosion). Pinalabas na lahat ng tao dito."

It was such a relief to read his message.

The alleged bombing, which happened early afternoon last Friday killed at least 11 people and wounded more than 100 others.

The Rajah Sulaiman Group immediately claimed responsibility for the incident but many doubt it because anybody could just lay claim of being the one responsible for the bombing to further sow confusion especially on investigators doing probe on the cause of the blast.

Excerpts from the Philstar report: "The PNP earlier said evidence collected from the blast site tested positive for RDX, a main ingredient of the explosive C-4.... The findings were however, being re-evaluated because all other samples from the blast site have tested negative for explosives, according to the three investigators.... They pointed out the possibility that fumes may have leaked from a huge diesel fuel container, or methane gas from a septic tank, and ignited in the tightly enclosed concrete basement."

Was it perpetrated by terrorists groups, by loyal supporters of President Arroyo, or was it merely accidental?
