the pug 'n me

Oh boy… this animal is really really cute… The first time I saw a pug was several months ago while I was strolling at SM City with my bo, Barney, my girl (best) friend in Cebu and Conrad, her other half ;)

And the first time I laid my eyes on it (actually on them because there were a pair of them inside a cage), I was sooooooooo AMUSED….

They were sleeping on a small basket but I made anything I could to catch their attention. I knocked on the crystal window of the pet shop. I can hardly remember how I giggled when they looked at me (may be I was jumping in joy).

And their looks—the most unique of all the dogs (all dogs are unique). The pug’s head is round when you look at it from the front. But from the side, the face is flat with too little chin. And its eyes! Round, dark, expressive and full of life and as if it will eat you whole alive when it looks at you. Hahahahaha!

The second time I went back to the pet shop in the same mall I was with Liv and Cristina. I eagerly showed them my favorite animal. I can still imagine until now how Liv almost lost her breath laughing at how the pug looks (there was only one left when we went there). Cristina was also tickled pink.

The next time I went back to the same mall, I was not able to contain my “gigil” on the cute hound. This time, the two others that we saw earlier are no longer there. But there is a new one. And it is the black one. The same kind that appeared in Men in Black movie!

Oh my… mura jud ungo!!! I blurted out which made other mall-goers turned their heads towards us (this time I was with my bf). The next thing I noticed people is starting to gather around us.

I managed to slip away from the crowd and went inside the pet shop. I asked the shop tender if I could enter the area (which is restricted and only the buyers of the pets are allowed in) where the pug and the other dogs are. And know what I did? Wala lang… I “crushed” the face of the pug until I make “sawa.” And he seemed to enjoy being messed upon…Hehehehehe…

I was planning to buy a pug. But it would surely make my life miserable. Not because it is very “kiatan” and would destroy all your plants, sofas, and things inside and outside your house but because you would need a whole lot P20, 000 bucks to buy one! That would make me dead broke.

This man-made breed was created just to look exactly like they do. And I am just satisfied when I see one, not own one… ;)
